Oppo K13X Review 2025 – Budget Beast or Just Overhyped?

Targeting budget users, Oppo has launched a new smartphone, the Oppo K13X, which can be called the successor to the Oppo K12X. However, compared to the Oppo K13X, there aren’t any major improvements beyond the battery and primary camera. This phone comes with a large 6000mAh battery, which is a good thing considering the price. However, the battery isn’t everything. There are many other things you should know about before buying a phone.

Negative Points

During our testing, we discovered several positive and negative points. So, let’s first discuss the negative points. The Oppo K13X features an HD+ display, which doesn’t justify a full HD+ display in this price range in 2025. If the brand didn’t offer an AMOLED display, it should have at least offered a Full HD+ display.

The biggest drawback of the phone is the excessive bloatware. If we count them, we find over 20 applications, which already fill the phone’s 50GB of storage. Furthermore, when we set up the phone, we’re prompted to install some applications, which a normal user will likely install because the skip button is hidden at the top. We shouldn’t install them, otherwise we’ll end up installing 10 to 15 more applications.

Furthermore, some of the 20 bloatware installed aren’t even available on the Google Play Store. This means that if they’re not available on the Google Play Store, those apps could have security issues. Furthermore, you’ll see a lot of ads and suggestions for installing apps in the phone’s default applications. You’ll also see folders for hot apps and hot games, and you’ll see a lot of unnecessary notifications throughout the day.

All of this completely ruins the phone’s experience. The phone’s camera is below average, with photos lacking detail. Looking at the phone from the front, the bezels and chin are quite average. The phone has a single microphone and a single speaker. There’s no IR patch support. Video playback also lacks HDR and 4K support, and the camera can’t record 4K videos. The chipset in this phone is comparable to many phones priced lower than this. Considering all this, the phone is a bit overpriced.

Positive Points

The phone does offer some positive points. For example, the build quality is excellent, with a 360° armor body and military-grade certification. The phone also boasts SGS drop certification, which is a significant improvement in this price range.

The software experience is quite smooth. There’s no jitter or lag in the UI. The phone boasts a 6000 mAh battery. A 45W charger is included in the box, and the phone fully charges in around 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The back cover that comes with the phone is of very good quality, allowing for long-term use. Games like BGMI COD offer 60fps. For day-to-day users, multitasking is a good option, considering the price.

However, if you’re buying the 6 Plus 128GB variant, I wouldn’t recommend the 4GB variant right now, as the phone may run well now, but lagging or jittering may be present in the future.

Design & Durability

The phone features a plastic build. The frame is also plastic, and the back is also plastic. The brand hasn’t mentioned the protection offered on the front display. Therefore, it’s essential to use a high-quality topcoat.

The back has a matte plastic finish, preventing fingerprint smudges. The phone features rounded edges and flat sides, making for a good in-hand feel. The front has a flat display and a thickness of 7.9mm. Weight is officially listed at 194 grams, but our testing showed it weighed 197 grams (likely due to the screen protector).

It boasts IP65 water and dust resistance, which is great at this price.

Display

Oppo K13X
  • 6.67-inch HD+ IPS Display
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 850 nits typical brightness, 1000 nits HBM
  • 89.9% screen-to-body ratio

The display supports 120Hz refresh rate, but only the UI runs at 120Hz while most apps stay at 60–90Hz. The phone doesn’t support HDR or 4K video playback.

Color accuracy is 100% sRGB, and it works with wet hands and gloves. However, outdoor visibility could have been better.

Performance

Oppo K13X
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm)
  • GPU: Mali-G57 MC2
  • RAM: 4/6/8GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.2

Performance is decent for daily use, but not for gaming. BGMI runs at 60fps on Smooth+Extreme, and Pubg Mobile runs well at low–high settings.
