Early Life & Education
Asrani was born into a middle-class Hindu family in Jaipur. He studied at St. Xavier’s School and later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Rajasthan College.
To support his education, he even worked as a boy artist at All India Radio, Jaipur.
He had no interest in joining his father’s carpet business and was deeply passionate about acting.
Between 1960-1962, he trained in acting under Sahitya Kala Bhai Thakkar.
In 1964, he joined the Film Institute, Pune, where he completed his acting course in 1966.

Asrani made his Hindi film debut in 1967 with Hare Kaanch Ki Chudiyan, which was a superhit.
During his early career, he also acted as a lead actor in Gujarati films.
